Button Collecting

Button collecting is called a hobby, but anyone who collects these tiny works of art knows that it is a passion!  Many button collectors "discovered" the beauty of buttons after they had been collecting other things.  It doesn't take much for the button 'bug bite' to take hold and infect a person!  There are many links to other collectors' button sites...  just use the Button Collectors Web Ring, at bottom of page, to begin your journey!  If you like the buttons that you see on this, or any other Button Collector's website, and you are not a member of a Local, State or National Button Club, I urge you to join!!  The information and comradeship that you encounter will only help you to become better at collecting, with the added bonus of making some of the best friends in the world on your journey!!!  I have to say that I have never met a button collector that I didn't like!!

Genealogy

Our Family background has always fascinated me ~ finding out information about the past generations in our family ~ seeing the old photos ~ reading old letters and other papers of past generations brings these dear ones to life and makes the past seem not as distant as it otherwise would feel ~ Two branches of our Family hold yearly reunions and we all enjoy sharing our latest discoveries.

In our Family pages, please note that we have only begun to touch the surface...

There is so very much more to be discovered!

I use Family Tree Maker and have been slowly entering information into that program. Many of our family records lack some sort of information, and if you have anything to add to our research, it would be greatly appreciated ~ Please let me know by emailing me with what you might share!  I will be more than happy to share what I have with you!

Some of the names included in our family are Comins, Page, Pagliaro, Stibolt, Hansen and Phelps. The Comins and Phelps Families originally came from England & were among the original Colonists settling in Massachusetts, Maine, Connecticut and New York. The name Page was changed from Pagliaro ~ Our Branch emigrated from Sambiasi, Italy. The Stibolts and Hansens emigrated from Denmark.

My nephews, Bryan and Eric, are the Great-Great-Grandsons of the Reverend Stephen Williams (on their Father's side).  Reverend Stephen Williams is the young man of the "Boy Captive of Old Deerfield" series of books... Reverend Stephen Williams is buried in the graveyard of the First Church of Christ in Longmeadow, MA.  Stephen Williams' sister is also the subject of a work entitled "The Unredeemed Captive" (which is a great book!).

A Visual Trip to Italy

An ongoing project... Click here to view pictures from our trip to Italy.

Memories linger... There are times when you feel a yearning in your soul, created by the strength of a memory... Or, an unexpected memory can pull you back to a particular moment in time... How can we ever forget certain places, people, sights, smells... These experiences ~ these memories ~ bring to light something truly extraordinary in our hearts and minds... We know that we will not go to Italy again... Viewing these images from the trip brings back those cherished days... Sharing these Memories is my gift to you.
